Infinite Zoom Canvas
Scroll does not move the page, it falls deeper into an endless field of images.
This is the real effect, not a video. Scroll, drag and click inside it.
The Infinite Zoom Canvas scatters photographs through open 3D space and ties the scroll wheel to depth instead of direction. Scrolling dives the visitor further in, images swelling past the camera as new ones resolve out of the distance, and dragging pans the whole field sideways. There is no bottom of the page, only further.
When to use it
Dressed here as a travel journal, it suits any archive that rewards wandering: photographers, magazines, agencies with years of work, event archives. It is a destination piece, the page people send each other, rather than a workhorse catalogue layout.
Why it works
Depth is a different invitation than length. A long page asks the visitor to finish it, while an endless field asks them to explore, and exploration has no failure state, there is no bottom to reach and feel done with. The forward motion also gives every image a moment at full size as it passes, which a grid never grants.
