Alternating Marquee Rows

Three rows of photos drifting forever, each in the opposite direction.

This is the real effect, not a video. Scroll, drag and click inside it.

Alternating Marquee Rows fill the screen with three bands of photography in constant, unhurried motion. The top row drifts one way, the middle row the other, the bottom row back again, and hovering any image scales it up and reveals its caption.

When to use it

Use it when a brand owns a deep photo library and wants to feel like a living community: adventure collectives, restaurants, events, schools, congregations. It happily absorbs fifteen or more images, which most gallery patterns cannot.

Why it works

Counter motion between rows creates a weave the eye cannot ignore, yet the slow speed keeps it calm rather than busy. Because no single image is the hero, the section says look how much happens here, which is exactly the message community brands need.
