The Morphing Showroom

A BMW drives in and opens into three cars, then waits. Click one and it morphs into that model in front of you, and the whole shop below follows your choice.

The Morphing Showroom is a complete dealership website concept built around one moment: a car drives in and becomes three. A BMW arrives on a rooftop at dusk, then splits into a Lexus hybrid, a BMW petrol and a Tesla electric standing as one car. Click any third and it morphs into that model in front of you. Below the stage, the showroom is a real filtered shop: every car on the floor, and whichever powertrain you touched above is the only one it shows.

How it works

Seven short video clips are stacked on top of each other and only one is visible at a time. Each clip starts on the exact frame the previous one ended on, so switching between them looks like one continuous shot. The arrival plays first, then the BMW morph clip is played in reverse, which is what opens the car into a three way split of Lexus, BMW and Tesla. The car then holds on the split and waits: nothing plays until someone clicks. Clicking a third plays that car's morph forward; clicking another car reverses to the split first and then morphs to the new choice, and clicking the active car returns to the split. Hover only lights the label, so a wandering cursor never sets the video off. Choosing a car does one more thing: it filters the showroom below to that powertrain only, so choosing Lexus turns the floor into a hybrid shop. Phones get a picker bar that does the same.

Who it fits

Built here as a three brand showroom, it suits any dealer or marketplace whose real question is which type, not which car: multi brand showrooms, EV specialists comparing against petrol, leasing companies, even motorcycle or e-bike retailers. It needs one arrival clip and a morph clip per option, plus a short inventory for each powertrain.

Why it sells

Every car website makes the visitor choose from a menu. This one lets them click the answer and watch it become real, which is a far stronger commitment than a tab in a menu. Filtering the whole floor to their choice then removes the noise, so a hybrid buyer never scrolls past nine petrol cars to find the three that matter to them.

Common questions

How does the car change into a different car?

It is video, not 3D. Each transformation is a short generated clip, and its reverse is the same file played backwards. Because every clip begins on the frame the last one finished on, the page can hand over between them without a visible cut.

What happens if I click another car before the morph finishes?

Nothing is dropped. The page remembers your click, finishes the clip that is playing, reverses back to the three way split, then morphs to the car you chose. The car always settles on your last choice.

Why does the shop below change when I choose a car?

Because a dealership website should behave like a salesperson. Choosing the hybrid means you are interested in hybrids, so the floor shows only hybrids until you say otherwise. The filter chips above the grid put it back to everything.

Does this work on a phone?

Yes. A picker bar sits near the bottom of the hero. Tap Lexus, BMW or Tesla and the car morphs and the shop filters exactly as it does on desktop. Tap the same one again and it returns to the split.
